Lots and Lots of Updates

Hello Everyone!
Well, we are finally all moved in to our new house in Alabama.
However, we are not even close to being all unpacked!
Today is the first day that I have had access to the internet. Therefore, I am sorry that I have not had a chance to post updates and pictures to the blog. Tonight, I had over 290 pictures/videos to upload. I will be posting lots of new pictures very soon!!!! Addie and Alex are adjusting well to life in the South. They are both in their own rooms and sleeping all night in their own beds!!!!!!!! Other than getting used to a slower paced environment, we are adjusting well! It will take a while to get used to waiting 20 minutes in a McDonalds drive-through. I guess that they do not have FAST FOOD down here!
Our house is located off of backroads. However, we are pretty close to most everything. It takes about 5 minutes to get to just about any SLOW food restaurants, and about 10-15 minutes to get to most stores. We have made many trips to grocery stores and Lowes. It takes Dale about 15 minutes to get to work. It is so funny that people here think that there is traffic. When you hear "Traffic" down here, it is like a normal drive through St. Louis. It is nothing compared to rush hour!
Since we have arrived, we have tried to get lots unpacked.
Here is our past agenda:
Thursday April 30th: The movers came about 5:30am to start loading up. It took them until 11:30am to load 2 trucks full of our stuff. We were on the road by 1pm. Our first stop was to feed the babies at a McDonalds parking lot. When stopping on the road, it takes about an hour to feed both babies. Then, we stopped again in Metropolis to give Dakota and Bradyn a potty break. The dogs did great on the way down. They both rode in in the back of the Pacifica. Next, we made it all the way to Cadiz, KY before having to stop again. By this time, the babies started to get fussy... Believe it or not, we saw our movers on this stop. We kept on going until we reached Brentwood, TN. It was hear that we stopped to feed Addie and Alex in a Walgreens parking lot. Next, we stopped at a Babies R Us to change diapers. We finally reached Huntsville, Al around 10pm. By the time that we dropped Dakota and Bradyn off at the house, checked in at the Embasy and fed the babies, it was close to 11:30pm. We had to be at the new house at 7am for the movers to start unpacking. The night at the Embasy was great. We have stayed at this hotel several times. But, it was Addie and Alex's first stay. I have decided that I will never travel with a pack and play as the hotel had great little beds for the little ones.
On Friday, May 2nd, we arrived at the new house to let the movers in... It took them a little over 4 hours to unload the truck. Our friend, Donna came by to see the twins. Mommy, Donna, and the babies went to WalMart. The kids were so crabby as they were so tired. That night, grandma and grandpa came for the weekend. It was nice having them here to help us unpack and to help with the little ones. They headed home on Sunday. Their stay was short, but they were able to help us get a lot accomplished. However, we have started our list for their next visit!!!!! :)
On Monday, our friend Kristin came to visit. She was going to be our neighbor when we were building a house last spring. But, when we decided to stay in St. Louis to have the twins, we gave up that house. Kristin spent lots of time getting practice with Addie and Alex as she is expecting a baby boy, Andrew in July! We can't wait for Addie and Alex to play with Andrew! Maybe another boyfriend in Addie's future......
This week was nuts! Dale had to go to the office and mommy stayed busy working around the house, keeping up with Addie and Alex and running errands. On Monday and Tuesday, we picked Daddy up for lunch. We also visited some of daddy's co-workers. That was fun! It was nice to finally meet all of them... Wednesday was a VERY BUSY day. Addie and Alex went to their first class at Little Gym. It was a lot of fun! There were 3 other babies in their class. We also went to the Huntsville Botanical Gardens with a twins mom and her two little guys, Grant ad Finn. The Gardens were tons of fun! It was a bit hott for Addie and Alex. But, it was nice getting to know those new friends. After the Gardens, Alex and Addie had to go to the doctor to get one of their 4 month shots. At this appointment, mommy weighed us.
Alex: 14 pounds 7 ounces
Addie: 10 pounds 13 ounces
Whew! I guess that is enough for now. Tomorrow, we are looking forward to meeting another twins mom for a walk at the outdoor mall and lunch. Stay tuned for lots of pictures and updates!
