Fun Pictures of Addie and Alex

Whew! What a week already. Yesterday, Addie and Alex went to run errands with mommy. Here is what we did:
1) In Alabama, you do not get your license when you apply for it. So, we had to go and get mommy another AL license. WE WERE SMART! We found a place that you can go that is like top secret information around here. So, we did not have to wait long.
2) We went to daddy's office to visit some friends. Miss Peggy, Miss Gitti, and miss Cherie always enjoy seeing them. Don't worry Peggy, Addelynn will be better for you next time! Thanks to all of you for helping me feed them.
3) We went to KOHLS to help mommy find items for the Italian Themed Homemade Gourmet basket that she is making for the NICU fundraiser event.
4) We picked up daddy for lunch. Of course, you guessed it, Mexican!
Wouldn't you be tired? We were, but when we got home, we decided that it was not yet time to take a nap.....

Alex was so tired tonight that he fell asleep in his highchair. Of course, he enjoyed sweet potatoes/corn and mangos before he crashed out!
Addie likes her new highchair!
Mommy and Daddy have a few errands to run before leaving for grandma and grandmas house. Daddy was a big help this morning and picked out their clothes and got them dressed, shoes in all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How did he do????? Please leave a comment for daddy!

Our Weekend

We tried to take it easy this weekend as Addie and Alex were still fighting somewhat of a cold. We had our friends Sara and Jeremy over this weekend and their little guy, Spencer played with Addie and Alex. Addie will have lots of boyfriends to pick from! On Sunday, daddy watched Addie and Alex while mommy went to work. Mommy's friend Carmen hosted a Homemade Gourmet make and take party! It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun!!!!!!!!! At the party, the girls made a total of over 50 meals to take home and freeze! In August, mommy is having the make and take at our house, so we will need to be on our best behavior!
Enjoy these pictures from our weekend! Next weekend, we are off to grandma and grandpas house to visit. Old grandma is having surgery on Monday, so please say a prayer for her. Addie and Alex will see Dr. Kasper on Tuesday for their 6th month check up. Wednesday, we hope to get together with our other twin friends, Huck, Frances, Evan and Leah!!!!!! I am sure that we will have a crazy schedule as we always do!
Enjoy our pictures!!!!!!!
Alex and Addie on Monday Morning. I love this picture!
Mr. Alex! Sorry for the pink on his shirt. He happened to spit up his amoxil right before this picture. But, he is cute enough to disregard that little stain!
Can you say mess??????????? Little sister is quite the character in the Jumperoo!
Addie started on her back laying underneath this toy, but she moved herself around.....
We have been playing all day! We are ready for a nap!!!!!!!!!!!

Addelynn's Funny Video

Here is Addie jumping in the Jumperoo! She could spend hours in here! Just over the past week or so, she has started really jumping all the time. There is not a seatbelt in this thing! But, there should be as she can get this thing a moving!!!!!!!

Addie and Alex Update

Sorry that I do not have any new pictures to post today!
Both Addie and Alex are still fighting colds. So, they have not wanted their picture taken and I have not had the time to even grab the camera.... Alex went back the doctor yesterday and has an ear infection, so he is on extra medicine! Poor little guy. Addie is just fighting the common cold. I hope to have more pictures to post this weekend!
* Reminder, if you are wishing to help Addie and Alex with their fundraiser, there are 15 more days... The link is on the side of our blog "Swim for Melissa". Thanks for all of your donations thus far!

Wednesday Update

Greetings from Drew and Jake in Baltimore!!!!!!!
We received this adorable picture from our twin friends, Drew and Jake. They live in Baltimore! I know that you have heard lots about them through our blog. They are the ones that give us lots of really cool stuff! Drew and Jake are getting so big as they will be 9 months old at the end of July. Happy Birthday to their mom, Kimmie today!
Addie and Alex Update:
Both of our kids have been fighting colds since the weekend. They are on a cough medicine and a cream for the breakout on their little faces. Addie seems to be fighting it just fine! She is just such a mess! Alex is having a harder time. I know that Alex is not feeling well when he is not able to lay down for a nap or bedtime without crying. He is also not sleeping through the night right now, which is definitely not his routine! Today, I am going to take Alex to have his ear checked. I want to be sure that this cold has not led him to an ear infection. I will keep you all posted!

Adorable Videos of Addie and Alex during feeding time

These are some videos from Sunday! Addie and Alex have come down with a cold. We took them to the doctor today. They are on a cough medicine and an ointment for their face. The breakout is from the slobber while they are teething. It will go away! Alex could possibly get an ear infection, but right now, it is just a cold. It is so hard to see them not feeling well. But, these videos can make you laugh! Here are their weights from today, Monday July 21st, 2008:

Alexander: 16 pounds 14 ounces

Addelynn: 13 pounds 3 ounces

When we go home in a few weeks to visit grandma and grandpa, we will have our 6 month check up with Dr. Kasper. We can't wait to see what he thinks of these little munchkins!

Here is Addelynn playing around during her feeding time.

She has discovered that she would like to try and feed herself.

What a mess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh well, I am just impressed that she has figured

out how to hold the spoon and take it to her mouth! Yea Addie!

SORRY!!!!!!!!! Be sure to turn side ways for this video. Mommy could not figure out how to flip it, but it was way too CUTE to pass up!

Alex too has figured out how to move about in his high chair. He is quite the talker, these days... Imagine that!

Funny Little Sister, Addie!!!!!!!!

Little sister, herself had to be part of the action!!!!!!!!

What a mess they made today during feeding time!

Funny Alex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are some funny pictures of Alex! He is such a character, these days... Enjoy!

Double Trouble!!!!!!!!!!!

One plus one is two and that's the both of you. Twice as much to love, two blessings from above. Two precious lives to mold, two little hands to safely hold. God touched our hearts so deep inside, our special blessing multiplied.

Grandpa and Grandma's Trip to Huntsville with Old Grandma

We all had a lot of fun this weekend! Grandma and grandpa brought old grandma to visit this weekend. It was so nice to have everyone over without having to have a list of chores to do. Here are some pictures from the weekend! As you can see, Addie and Alex are very spoiled!!!!! We will be home again in a few weeks to visit again!

Pictures from Saturday: July 19, 2008

Saturday was a great day visiting with grandpa, grandma and old grandma. Grandpa helped daddy do a few jobs around the house while the girls and babies visited. It was nice to just be able to relax! Saturday night we all ventured out to a new outdoor mall in Huntsville, Bridgestreet. Mommy and daddy love the mexican restaurant, Cantina Laredo. Therefore, that is where we all had dinner! Afterwards, we walked the mall for a bit and took a small tour of the town. The pictures posted are from Saturday night... Enjoy!
Grandma and Grandpa brought Addie and Alex's exersacuer back from their house. So, now we have a new toy to add to our collection. It is amazing how much they have changed since the last time that they were in it. They are now bouncing up and down and also playing with all the toys. Of course, all the toys go straight to their mouth.

Thanks!!!!!!!!

Dear Family and Friends,
Dale and I would like to say thank you very much for all of your generous donations towards Addelynn and Alexander's fundraising efforts for the NICU at Huntsville Hospital. Seven months ago today, our miracles, Addelynn and Alexander were born and admitted into the NICU at St. Johns Mercy Medical Center, St. Louis. Since then, we have made huge strides! It is now that our family is taking an active role in helping the lives of babies born in our new hometown, Huntsville, Alabama!

Words cannot explain how we felt 7 months ago today when we were informed that our babies would be arriving into the world, two months early. At this time, we were in the hands our our doctors and did whatever it took to get them here safely! We thank God and the staff at St. Johns Mercy for having the state of the art equiptment that allowed Alexander and Addelynn to reach for their fullest potential during the first few weeks of their life. As parents, we had to put our trust in those that know best! We consider ourselves very lucky to have been in this environment. It is such an amazing feeling and since of accomplishment to know that we are now in the process of helping babies in Huntsville, Alabama have this same opportunity!

Addelynn and Alexander's fundraiser webpage shares their story as well as information about the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Huntsville Hospital. Dale and I would like to say thank you to all of you that have prayed and to all of you that have donated. Addelynn and Alexander have 20 days left to raise money for the NICU. Please feel free to click the Swim for Melissa link on the right side of our blog to learn more about this life saving opportunity.

Thank You Again!!!!!!!

Happy 7 Month Birthday Addelynn and Alexander

Happy 7 Month Birthday Addelynn and Alexander
It is so hard to believe that 7 months ago today, Addelynn and Alexander arrived into this world. The past 7 months have been full of joy, excitement and adventure for our family. Grandma and Grandpa brought Old Grandma to Alabama this weekend to celebrate the twins special day! Addie and Alex stayed up late to wait for their special guests.
For an update, both Addie and Alex are really becoming active little kids! They love spending time in the Jumperoo and exersaucer. It is so much fun to watch them interact with one another as well as their toys! Thanks to all of our family and friends whom continue to stay updated via the blog! Look for more pictures very soon!
Alex has just about outgrown his carseat, but we will make the best of it!

Puffs, Puffs and more Puffs

July 14, 2008
Sorry for the delay in the postings! We have been rather busy here of late. We are still trying to get settled into the new home. We are just about un-packed and organized. It takes forever! Addie and Alex are doing great! They have been meeting lots of new friends and enjoying Alabama.
Here are some of the things that we have doneand lately:
July 4, 2008: Spent time with our twin friends, Grant and Fiinn. They had us over for a BBQ and we enjoyed spending time with them and some other wonderful people.
* Making lots of trips to daddy's work to visit
* Walking the neighborhood in our new stroller
* Going to Target to stock up on diapers and wipes
* Our friends Kristen and Scott had their baby. Addie and Alex can't wait to meet their new playmate Andrew!
* Friends that mommy and daddy met on their honeymoon cruise, Sharon and Phil came to visit us from South Carolina. Thanks for the cute outfits and fun toys!
* On Saturday night, we went to a friends house where Addie and Alex had fun playing with Spencer. He is a cutie!
* Today we went to a playgroup and had fun sharing our toys!

Tonight Addie and Alex went shopping with mommy and daddy. We decided that we would allow them to try some baby snacks, PUFFS. Here are the pictures!

Addelynn is waiting for her turn to have a PUFF!
Little Sister, herself!
Alex was not real sure about those puffs!

Grants Farm Trip: June 28th, 2008

Trip to Grants Farm: June 28th, 2008
Today was such a beautiful day, we had to do something outside. It was mommy and daddys 5 year wedding aniversary and they took us to Grants Farm. While we were at the farm we did lots of fun and exciting things. We rode the tram, watched the goats, attended the elephant show, drank our bottles and rode around in the stroller. The elephant show was a big hit as we were picked as the cutest kids in the audiance. Since we are too little to have helped out in the show, we got to have a balloon that the elephant blew up..... Please take us to the Farm again, mommy and daddy!

Taking pictures while the tram was moving was not easy. Daddy holds onto Alex for the bumpy ride. Alex was awake most of the trip!
Mommy shows Addie lots of animals along the way. Addie was a good nap taker while we were at the farm. Big surprise!
Addie and Alex and their Elephant Show balloon. We decided to get a picture as the balloon was too much to carry around the park. But, it will be saved, forever!

I know, I know... Addie was asleep, so Alex got to pet the chick.....

Playdate with our Friend Noah

Addie and Alex had a great time playing with their friend Noah.....
Mommy took tons of pictures, but it was hard to find one where both of them had their eyes open! Noah was born in January so is about a month older than Addie and Alex. I would say that Alex and Noah are pretty close in size.

Twins Playdate: June 26th, 2008

As promised, here are some pictures from our twin playdate in St. Louis. Addie and Alex had lots of fun meeting Evan and Leah as well as Huck and Frances. Can't wait til we get together in August!
Leah and Evan pose for the camera!
Huck is all about the camera! Frances is not sure what to think...
Addie has met her new boyfriend, Huck. He was constantly trying to take her toys....
Alex says, "That Huck took my book"... Huck was sure the life of this party!

Our Friends: Playdate at Kristin's House

While in St. Louis, we had our first playdate with mommy's friends Kristin and Alicia. Both of them have twins..Mommy met them when she was pregnant as they were in our multiples class at St. Johns. It was a lot of fun! We can't wait til we can meet again in August. Stay tuned for more exciting pictures from our playdate!

Kristin with her twins, Frances and Huck. They are a day younger than Addie and Alex. But, they were also full term so just a little bit bigger! Huck was quite the life of the party! They are both super cute!
Alicia with her twins, Evan and Leah. How adorable! Evan and Leah were born on November 2nd, and were also considered full term. When they were born, mommy and daddy visited them in the hospital as mommy had an ultrasound almost twice a week!

Visit to St. Johns Mercy NICU and Dr. Jewell's Office

We just had to go and visit the NICU and Dr. Jewell's office while we were in town. We arranged to visit when our primary nurse, Joanne was working... She is such a wonderful nurse. She spent lots of time taking care of Addie and Alex while they were in the NICU. We met her on Christmas Day and she has been with us ever since! We thank God that we met such a wonderful nurse and friend... Thanks Joanne for all that you did everyday for us and all days for others! We miss you!
Joanne holds Alex and Addie! This was the 500th time that she has seen them since they left the NICU. Just kidding! We have only seen her a handful of times and are already looking forward to seeing her again!
Meet Nurse Mary with Dr. Jewell's office. Mary was our ultrasound tech for the past 4 years. When we were trying to get pregnant and when we were pregnant with Addie and Alex she was always there to help us! Thanks Mary for all of your support and encouragement over the years! We miss you too!
Dr. Jewell holds Addie and Alex for the 1st time. Dr. Jewell has been my OB for the past 5 years. He is a very compassionate man with a big heart! We have been through a lot and could not have done it without his support. Thanks Dr. Jewell! When I was spending time in the ante partum unit, he was there all the time to check on me! Unfortunately, with my c-section being an emergency, he was unable to deliver the twins. But, it was wonderful getting to know his partner, Dr. Shaner.

Our Trip to Grandpa and Grandmas house: June 21st-30th

When daddy got home from his business trip to California, we celebrated Fathers Day and packed the car up to head to Grandma and Grandpas house. Daddy had been gone for over a week and was already having to leave again for another week. So, mommy thought that it would be nice to visit grandma and grandpa and have an extra few sets of hands to help out with Addie and Alex for a few days! Here are some pictures from our stay. We did lots of fun things while we were in town, so stay tuned for more pictures. Coming Soon!

Alex enjoyed spending time in the Jumperoo.
During our last visit, Addie and Alex could not really sit in the exersaucer without lots of support. However, they both did great this time! Here is "HAPPY ADDIE"
BUMBO Chair time. This was so funny! They were talking to eachother and playing with toes the whole time.
Mr. Alex trying to read his book, or have the book make it to his mouth. Yum!
Addie loves the musical frog!
